53. Indira's Being Still Meditation, Catholic version:

This meditation will be an eliminating chant meditation.

We will be focusing on stillness and in this stillness, feeling God's love encompassing us as we ascend our attention to different parts of the body, repeating the eliminating chant which begins with the words, "Be still, feel God's love encompassing me." The chant will be reduced by the last word so finally we will be left with only one word, the word "Be". Repeat the chant three times aloud and then continue internally in silence for about a minute and a half, until you hear the chime ring.

Let us begin by drawing your attention inwards, by closing your eyes, if you like, and with three deep breaths, welcome in God's Life Giving Force, which sustains us moment by moment. Exhaling any tension that might be in your body.

Now focus your attention at your tailbone area, giving it a touch with your hands and then relax your hands on your lap. I will read the first chant aloud twice:

Be still, feel God's love encompassing me. Repeat three times aloud...

Continue repeating the chant internally in silence until you hear the chime ring.

Ascending your focus to your abdomen area, giving it a rub with your hands, then relax your hands on your lap. Repeat after me 3 times aloud then continue in silence: Be still, feel God's love encompassing...

Continue in silence.

Ascending your focus to your navel area, giving it a rub with your hands, then relax your hands on your lap. Repeat after me 3 times aloud: Be still, feel God's love...

Ascending your focus to your chest area, resting your hands on your heart, and then relax your hands on your lap. repeat after me 3 times aloud: Be still, feel God.

Ascending your focus to your throat area, resting your hands on your throat, then relax your hands on your lap. Repeat after me 3 times aloud: Be still, feel.

Ascending your focus to your forehead, touch your forehead with your fingers, then relax your hands on your lap. Repeat after me 3 times aloud: Be still.

Finally ascending to the top of your head, rest your fingertips on the top of your head, then relax your hands on your lap. Repeat after me 3 times aloud: Be.

We will end this meditation by sending gratitude to the Creator God for this time of stillness with 3 deep breaths. Then open your eyes and give your head a roll to one side and then the other side and then reach behind your neck and give yourself a bit of a massage. Then place your hands in prayer at your heart center and give a bow with an "Amen."
